Website & Graphic Designers - hustle free biz babes to help you grow your business with ease and joy (part one)

My favourite way to do business these days is thoughtfully, gently and enjoyably.

Gone are the days where I push myself beyond my limits, implement strategies that don’t resonate and do things that cause contraction.

Naturally with this shift, the people I seek out support from online has shifted dramatically. Gone are the babes teaching ’10 Steps to Building a Million Dollar Business in a Year’, and in are the ones who are sharing ‘How to Create a Profitable and Sustainable Business that Sets Your Heart Alight’.

Interestingly, my business has gone from strength to strength since I began to run my biz more gently, and in a way that compliments my values, personality and energy. Where in the past I had to juggle paid employment that sucked the life out of me with the building of my business, I now work 100% in my biz and only have to work part time to earn an amount of money that feels ample and abundant.

My journey has taught me that we don’t have to believe the BS message that the collective feeds us - that we have to push, be ruthless and be dominated by our masculine energy, in order to succeed. Yes, we have to work passionately, show up consistently and be intentional, but this path can be paved with ease, fulfilment, alignment … and lots of days off!

There’s no doubt in my mind that I wouldn’t be where I am today were it not for the women who too are leading the way and shining their light in this arena and today I want to share with you the babes I turn to for guidance and support. In business (and in life), it can be challenging to go against the grain and do things differently.

The women I turn to for guidance are resolute in their pursuit of building successful businesses that are grounded in joy, the feminine and intentionality, and are deeply passionate about supporting others to do the same! I hope you find them helpful on your journey forward should you be on the hunt for an aligned biz babe to support you to grow your biz in a way that feels delicious, enhance your abundance and maximise your joy.

In this instalment of ‘Hustle Free Biz Babes to Help Your Grow Your Business’ I’m sharing my favourite website and graphic designers with you - keep your eyes peeled for my next instalment where I’ll be sharing my fave coaches and mentors!

Our online homes aren’t just a virtual space, they’re an extension of our passion, purpose and soul, and they play a huge role in establishing our credibility, highlighting our magic and touching the hearts of our prospective clients. As such, a Website Designer shouldn’t be chosen willy-nilly and time and care should be invested in finding the perfect creative for you to collaborate with. I hope that of the amazing women I share here, you find one who not only resonates, but lights your soul on fire!

I also asked some of them to share their top tip for building a business that is free from the hustle, feels joyful to run and is of course, abundant. I hope you find their words of wisdom and support useful as you journey forward in your business.

Alana Jade Squarespace website designer

Alana Jade from Alana Jade Design Studio - Web Designer for freedom seekers, healers and heart-centred women

Alana is one of the most creative and intuitive women I’ve ever met (she designed my website you’re visiting right now!)

She has a thoughtfulness and depth to her like no other, and the magical ability to get to the heart of a brand (and of course the woman behind it!), it’s values and soul mission, and translate that into an online home that is soulful, functional and freakin’ beautiful. Valuing minimalism and slow, conscious, sustainable and intentional business practices, she’s a lady after my own heart.

On top of all this goodness, Alana offers one of the most high quality, cost effective and turnaround friendly website design options I’ve ever seen online, with her Squarespace template designs

You can join Alana’s Business Village where she shares how to grow a sustainable business and listen to episodes of her Untangled podcast (that is no longer active but is full of inspiring interviews with ordinary people living not-so-ordinary lives) via her website.

Try not to get wrapped up in all the online marketing, get rich quick hype out there. Most of those marketing tactics are way passed their use by date and they don’t work. Sustainable results take time – there’s no short cut. Keep things as minimal as you can – your systems, offerings, messaging, website — this keeps your costs low and your mind sane. This will free up your headspace to focus on what’s most important for a successful, sustainable business – connecting and building authentic relationships with the people in your community.

Emily Hassett from Spirited Seeker and Spirited Studio - Website Designer, Cacao Ceremony Guide and Emotional Alchemy Coach

Emily Hassett Spirited Seeker Website Design Squarespace

I freakin’ love this woman (she’s my not-so-secret lady crush) and have had the pleasure of collaborating with her to bring a number of websites to life. Emily is the most beautiful blend of femme and fierce, and sacred stillness melded with intentional action. Everyone I know who has ever had the pleasure of being supported by Em gives her raving accolades and is deeply touched by her presence, depth and creativity.

Em has two branches of her biz - Website Design for Soulful Entrepreneurs (Spirited Studio - the websites she designs are beautiful!), and all things inner exploration and outer world manifestation (Spirited Seeker). Her cacao ceremonies are one of my favourite things to dive into when I’m feeling off, need some grounding or have a full work day ahead of me, and her newsletters are one of the few I absolutely love.

You can download Em’s free Brand Clarity Playbook and find a stack of other sha-weet free resources via her website.

Jo Chunyan Website Designer

Jo Chunyan from Jo Chunyan - Brand Designer and Intuition Coach for Conscious Entrepreneurs

Jo is one of the most gentle powerhouses I’ve ever had the pleasure of connecting with. She is laser focussed but highly intuitive, and her work is of a ridiculously high quality (did you see Megan Dalla-Camina’s new site? That was all Jo!)

Jo has both your branding needs and emotional businesses needs covered. In the branding and design arm of her biz she creates everything from website design and social media templates to business cards and illustrations. In her role as a coach, she helps entrepreneurs and creatives up-level their business energetics so that they can live and work deeply connected to their intuition.

As well as all this, Jo is the author of The Intuition Journal: Nourishing daily rituals to cultivate clarity, inner wisdom and inspired action. You can find out more about Jo and join her Conscious Creative Facebook group via her website.

Supercharge your goals with intention.

Your intention is your desired state of being. It is the feeling or energy that you want to cultivate and experience in your work. It is your why and will help align you back to your truth and values and higher self. Your intention will help you grow through experience.

This doesn’t mean that you ditch your goals and focus solely on your intention. Goals are also important. The key is build your intention so that it becomes a foundation for your goals and aligned actions to be built upon.

Defining your goal will help you create a strategy and plan towards your desired outcome. It will help you track your progress and create action steps to get you there.

Taking into consideration both goals and intention provides a balanced (yin and yang, heart and head) approach to your work and your energetic business.

Alana Duckett from Wildflower Creative - Web Designer, Graphic Designer and Illustrator for women for big hearted business women, soulful activists and passionate dreamers

Alana Duckett Wildflower Creative

If you’ve ever heard of the brand Luludu, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that Alana is the woman behind these ethically made (and freakin’ gorgeous!) crochet sandals.

Alana is one of the most gentle and peaceful souls you’ll ever meet. Just absorbing her work and words makes you feel calm and reminds you of what’s truly important in this life. If you feel called to build and run a business that is steeped in deep meaning and intentionality, and do work that helps to make the world a better place, then Alana is your gal for all things design (she does web design, graphic design and illustration!)

You can download Alana’s free ebook, ‘Creating a Successful Business With Soul: my learnings from 7 years of running ethical and conscious businesses’ via her website.

When you’re running your own business, it is so, so (so!) easy to excitedly bounce out of bed in the morning, get straight on the computer and work, work, work. All. Day. Long. Your business is important, and yes it takes A LOT of work, but don’t let your businesses growth be at the expense of your own wellbeing. Remember: without a healthy you, there is no business!

My daily practices include putting my feet on the grass, sipping on multiple cups of nettle tea, having my essential oil burner on while I work, and setting an alarm on my phone to remind me to take regular breaks and deep breaths. I have downloaded an app called “Repeat Alarm” that reminds me to take 3 deep breaths every 30 minutes, eat every 2.5 hours, dance every 2 hours, and meditate once a day.

Kristy Jamieson from Kristy Jamieson Intuitive Design - Intuitive Designer

Kristy Jamieson Web Designer

There’s lots of things I love about Kristy!

Firstly, her illustrations are some of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL I’ve ever seen and her design work is next level. Secondly, she is deeply spiritual and through her offerings, reminds us that we are all divinely supported and guided. Last (but not least) I love how ‘unorthodox’ the creative journey she takes her clients on is - before diving into the creativity pool with her clients, Kristy first believes in guiding them back to their soul nature and that collaboration with the divine its what’s needed to birth branding that is shrouded in truth and deep authenticity. YUMMMMYYY!

You can grab a set of Kristy’s Sacred Feminine Archetype cards and her free resource, ‘Activate: Bring ideas to life’ (to help you put your divinely received inspiration into action) via her website.

You want to dive head first into the deep end and set the vision you have for your business on fire. You want to make it happen and can feel it with every fibre of your being. I’ve been there and know that it’s easy to fall into the trap of becoming mildly (completely) obsessed with your business and hustling. Eventually though, this doesn’t leave you with much fuel for your own fire.

If I had a chance to speak with myself a few years ago I would first hug and congratulate myself for holding a vision bigger than me, then proceed to compassionately tell myself not to take the joy out of the journey or fall into the illusion that ‘someday’ is better than where I am right now.

Creating a joyful business with your fire burning brightly starts the minute you want it for yourself - not once you’ve reached a certain goal. Some days you’ll nail it and some days you’ll do your best but fall short. The important thing is that the choice lies within ourselves in every moment.
